9/23/2007 - New version released to address issues that arose after Bungie updated their site this past week. Changelog below.
Changes in v2.0.9:
- Couple of improvements.
- Added in output of stat data to HTML. This option now exists for all areas that have XML output. Right-click in a stat box and select the appropriate option for the HTML output.
- Updated stats parsing to work again after Bungie updated their site last week.
- Linux versions now available. Linux users note: Read the FAQ on this site if you encounter a saving error while using H2O.
Please email me if you experience any issues with this release. You can find my email in the "About H2O" link on the left of the page.
6/18/2007 - New version with a couple of new, although obscure, features, and various bug fixes and
improvements. This can be considered a release candidate for the Windows version of 2.1.0. IMPORTANT - Before upgrading to this version from
an older version, please note if you ever changed any options from their default settings. If you have, note what you changed them to. Upon upgrading,
all options are changed back to their default settings.
Changes in v2.0.8:
- Couple of minor bug fixes.
- Changed format of saved options file to a much better formatting.
- Some various improvements.
- Completed implementation of Special Searches section.
- First special search added, called "Suspicious Games." 'Suspicious Games' allows one to search for games in which cheating of some kind MAY have occurred, though there will easily be 'false positives', so it is up to the user to look at the game to determine whether cheating actually occurred.
- Added "Copy Guest Games..." option to right-click menu of Games List. It pops up whenever all the games that are selected are unranked games. This feature allows one to copy games where they played as a guest on someone else's gamertag to their own gamertag savefile, in the process changing the guest name to one's actual gamertag name, and thus allowing these guest stats to count towards the stats for your gamertag.
- Added option (in Options 1) to automatically open XML files after saving them.
Please email me if you experience any issues with this release. You can find my email in the "About H2O" link on the left of the page.
6/5/2007 - Update to fix some issues with crashing when attempting to search within the downloaded games. If updating from a pre-2.0.6 H2O, please read the notes on the release of 2.0.6 (in the entry below this one.)
Changes in v2.0.7:
- Two fixes to fix crashing when searching within downloaded games.
6/1/2007 - H2O is up and running once again. IMPORTANT info for upgrading users: Any game that you have already downloaded, in prior versions of H2O, that has
the "Implement of Destruction" data will be deleted upon upgrade and automatically queued for redownload. This is due to the fact that, with the site change Bungie had, there is now data on which weapon
you used for EVERY kill, no longer just the implement of destruction. So these games must be redownloaded to get this (what I consider awesome) new data. Just note this, as first load from file with the new version
may take longer than normal, and the first download
for every gamertag after upgrading will likely include a good number of games.
Changes in v2.0.6:
- Added "Weapon, Grenade, Melee, Vehicle, and Other Kills" to sort by menu.
- Added "Weapon, Grenade, Melee, Vehicle, and Other Kills" to stat search.
- Added "# of Players, # of Teams" to sort by menu.
- Purged/Unpurged search dropdown has a couple more choices, mainly doing with the new types of unpurged games that popped up as a result of the stat site changes made since March.
- Added "Teamgame/FFA" search dropdown.
- Moved "Ranked/Unranked" search dropdown out of the Playlists search area.
- Fixed a couple of minor bugs.
- Removed both # of players and # of teams search boxes. Moved them to Stat Search.
- Added Primary Weapon Search box.
- Added Special Searches search box. But it doesn't do anything yet.
- You can now view, for games that have the data, kills by every single weapon used, per player, in the game.
- You can now also view total stats based on how many kills you have per weapon. The totals, however, are obviously only based on the games that have the data.
- Fixed the downloading of stats caused by the changes Bungie made to their stats site.
- If you select multiple games in the Games List, and then hit Shift+Enter on your keyboard, H2O will now total stats for those selected games.
- CSV output has been updated with all the new stat types.
- Updated XML Output and Graphing accordingly with the changes above.
- Updated the readme accordingly with the changes above.
5/7/2007 - Update to fix issues that once again rendered H2O unable to download. The issues were caused by Bungie changing
various aspects of the stats pages. There are a couple of other minor bug fixes and one feature addition.NOTE: As a result of the update, Detailed Gametype names
are once again available for all games. H2O will go through the entire games list, updating the gametypes of games that should have them updated. If you interrupt
this process before it finishes (such as by hitting the stop download button, or killing your internet connection), then each time you attempt to update stats it will
go through the entire index of games on bungie.net. Once it knows it has gone through the entire index for a savefile, it will stop attempting to update the gametypes
for the savefile by going through the entire games index. This only affects upgrading users upgrading from v2.0.1 - v2.0.3
Changes in v2.0.4:
- Fixes to repair downloading of stats.
- "Copy Player Name to Clipboard" option added to right-click menu of Game Viewer section.
- Various other miscellaneous fixes.
4/4/2007 - H2O can download stats once again! Changes since v2.0.0:
- The download stats portion was rewritten so that it could work with the new bungie.net This has, however, resulted in some other changes as well:
- "Kills Breakdown" information is now available for games. The new bungie.net features this new game info, which includes a breakdown of kills by weapon,
grenade, melee, vehicle, and other. It also includes the weapon/method used most often by a player to kill other players, as well as how many kills the player
had with this weapon/method.
- Detailed Player vs Player information is no longer provided by bungie.net. They do however, provide betrayals, most killed, and most killed by data now, which is related
to the old PvP data. AS A RESULT of this fact, I decided to CUT PvP data from all past games in H2O. Do note though, that before cutting, H2O will utilize
the betrayals, most killed, and most killed by information that can be gathered from this PvP data, and still retain those 3 stats. But the rest of the detailed PvP
stats will be CUT.
- Hits, Fired, and Hit % data is NO LONGER provided by bungie.net as well. However, this info will continue to be retained by H2O for games that were downloaded prior
to the bungie.net site upgrade. I chose to keep this (in regards to the cutting of PvP data), because I viewed Hit % related data as being leagues more important than Detailed PvP
data.
- As a result of the stat type changes mentioned above, the savefile format has been entirely redone, reworked, made better. etc. Your savefile will be autoconverted to the
new format, and it will do all of it only slightly longer than it took to load savefiles in v2.0.0. Importing old, H2O Stats Reader (pre 2.0) savefiles, however, will still take
longer than normal (upon first import.) As a result of all this, after converted, the savefile tends to load a bit quicker, and is on average 40% smaller (compared to 2.0.0).
- Also, the new "Kills Breakdown" data is available even for games going as far back as October 2006 (as of this writing.) If you have already downloaded these games for
a gamertag, H2O will intelligently notice this fact. Upon your downloading/updating of stats for a gamertag the first time after upgrading from H2O 2.0.0, H2O will "update"
the information for the games that could still have this new Kills Breakdown data, and append it to the existing game data. Thus, afterwards, for these games, you not only have
Kills Breakdown information, but also the old Hit % related data.
- Added an option to colorize ranked games in the Games List. When set, ranked wins are backcolored green, losses red, and ties yellow.
- "View Game in Game Viewer" shortcut added to right-click menu of Games List.
- Spruced up the right-click menus slightly.
- Fixed a bug that would potentially crash the program.
- As a result of the purging of PvP related data mentioned in one of the entries above, all PvP related options have been removed. Also, all PvP data sections in the program
have been replaced with Kills Breakdown sections.
- Also, as a result of LOT of factors, the save to old H2O savefiles button in options is no longer there. No point in having it now, seeing as how the old H2O (as in pre 2.0) will never work again.
- Fixed a bug related with the "Automatically adjust game times to your timezone." After daylight savings time hit, it was an hour off.
ALSO, do note, that the old H2O, as in the pre 2.0 versioning, will likely never work again. You will need to switch over to the new H2O, or discontinue use of the old H2O.
The way the old H2O (pre 2.0) is, it would likely need a complete rewrite to get it working again, which I do not have the time for.
2/18/2007 - H2O Stats Compiler v2.0.0
is finally released for Windows 2000, XP, and Vista users. With v2.0.0 comes a slight name change to the software. Both old and
new users should read the FAQ. Old users should use it to know how to import
the old H2O's savefiles into the new H2O. Everyone should read it just
for some general comments. If the new H2O is not supported on your operating system,
such as those that have Windows 98, you can download the old H2O Stats Reader by going to the old
H2O site via the link on the left.
