Q: I'm getting a so and so dll not found error. How do I fix this? Look below for remedies to specific dlls not found: Q: I'm getting a "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect..." error. How do I fix this? Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package. You can find the link for it in the Installation Help page. Q: I'm running Vista, and I've installed everything, and I'm still getting an error. How do I fix this? If you did not run the installer as an Administrator, do so. To do this, right-click the H2O installer, and any of the other installers, and select "Run as Administrator". Q: How do I use my savefiles from the old H2O Stats Reader? IMPORTANT: Before attempting to import an H2O Stats Reader (old H2O) savefile, make CERTAIN to first load up the savefile in the newest version of H2O Stats Reader (old H2O; NOT this software.) At the time of this writing, the newest version is v1.5.6. You do NOT need to keep the old H2O open. You need merely load up the savefile and close the old H2O. To import stats from a H2O Stats Reader (old H2O) savefile, simply place it in the savefiles folder for H2O Stats Compiler (new H2O). In Windows, this folder can be accessed via its shortcut in Start-->Programs-->H2O Stats Compiler folder, or by hitting the 'Manage Savefiles' button in the Main Section of H2O Stats Compiler (new H2O.) Once the savefile(s) is/are placed there, you can load the stats like you would normal for the gamertag/clan in H2O Stats Compiler (new H2O.) The stats will be loaded and converted to a new H2O savefile, and the old H2O savefile will be deleted. NOTE: When putting the old H2O saves in the folder, do NOT change the file extension. Additionally, if there is both a new H2O and old H2O savefile for a name in the folder, the old H2O savefile will NOT be loaded; it will be ignored.Another NOTE: Importing an old H2O Stats Reader savefile can take a bit; thus if you think the software is freezing up, it is not. It is suggested to add all of the names for the old H2O savefiles you want to import into the Auto Update Controls List, hit the Update for All Names buttons, and just let it run for a while. This will cause the software to go through all of the names, convert them to the new H2O savefile, and update the stats with new games as well. Q: I've renamed my gamertag via an Xbox 360. How can I change my savefile to have the new name? Moving stats to a renamed gamertag is simple. First let me clarify one thing: a renamed gamertag is just that; a gamertag that has been renamed but is considered to be of the 'same account' as the old gamertag. This is opposed to an entirely brand new gamertag. Anyway, moving to the new name from the old name is simple. Simply try to download stats (but not via the Auto Update feature) with the old name (after having the new name of course), and after a little bit of time, the software will ask if you want to check if this gamertag has been renamed. Choose yes, and after a little bit of time, it will automatically find the new name of the gamertag and convert all of the old names in the savefile to the new name, save a new savefile for the new name, and delete the savefile for the old name. Q: Stats won't download for me at all. What's wrong? If stats are not downloading for you at all, then it is more than likely that a firewall is blocking the software's internet access. To resolve this, tell the firewall to allow the software to connect to the internet, or disable the firewall. Q: Is it possible to schedule automatic updating of stats for a given list of gamertags? It is possible to schedule, at specific days/times throughout the week, the program to run automatic updates on the savefiles in the Auto Update List. First, you met set up the Auto Update List, and add the gamertags and clans you want to auto update. Next, scheduling can be done via the operating system's Scheduling software. For Windows, this would be in "Scheduled Tasks" in the "Control Panel." To schedule, simply go through the prompts, find H2O Stats Compiler, and in the "Advanced Properties", look at the "Run" box. At the end of what's already in there, add a space and then add in the commandline option "--autoupdate" (without the quotes of course.) When run via this commandline option the program loads, minimizes itself, goes through the auto-update list, and closes when finished. Q: The Friends List in H2O is not showing or doing anything to my Xbox Live Friends List. What's going on? The Friends List in H2O is NOT meant to represent anyone's Xbox Live Friends List. It is merely there for prioritizing certain names when totaling stats, and for the "Friends List Total Stats Comparison" feature. Q: I'm on Linux, and it keeps complaining that an error occurred while saving. How do I fix this? To fix this issue, Go to Options-->Options 1, Check "Use a different folder for saving savefiles...", and select a folder where you would like your savefiles to be stored. After doing this, you should have no issues. |
