Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I'm getting a so and so dll not found error. How do I fix this?

Look below for remedies to specific dlls not found:

...gtkmm-2.4.dll was not found. or ...libglib-2.0.0.dll was not found. or ...libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll was not found. Install/Reinstall the gtkmm runtimes. Visit the Installation Help page for a link on where to download them. If you still get this error after reinstalling them, then when you install them, if the installer ever has the option to "Add the gtkmm runtime directory to the PATH variable", make sure it is checked.

...bgd.dll was not found. Reinstall H3O Stats Compiler.

If you experience any other dll not found error, not listed here, email me at lunarshadowx@gmail.com

Q: I am still getting a ...gtkmm-2.4.dll was not found error, even after reinstalling the gtkmm package. OR
Q: The installation of the gtkmm package won't work; what's going on?

You may currently be running a gtkmm or GTK+ application (a popular one is Pidgin aka GAIM). There cannot be any gtkmm or GTK+ applications running when you install a (newer) gtkmm package. Close all open gtkmm and GTK+ applications and try installing the gtkmm package again.

Q: I'm getting a "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect..." error. How do I fix this?

Download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package. You can find the link for it in the Installation Help page.

Q: I'm running Vista, and I've installed everything, and I'm still getting an error. How do I fix this?

If you did not run the installer as an Administrator, do so. To do this, right-click the H3O installer, and any of the other installers, and select "Run as Administrator".

Q: I've renamed my gamertag via an Xbox 360. How can I change my savefile to have the new name?

Moving stats to a renamed gamertag is simple. First let me clarify one thing: a renamed gamertag is just that; a gamertag that has been renamed but is considered to be of the 'same account' as the old gamertag. This is opposed to an entirely brand new gamertag. Anyway, moving to the new name from the old name is simple. Simply try to download stats (but not via the Auto Update feature) with the old name (after having the new name of course), and after a little bit of time, the software will ask if you want to check if this gamertag has been renamed. Choose yes, and after a little bit of time, it will automatically find the new name of the gamertag and convert all of the old names in the savefile to the new name, save a new savefile for the new name, and delete the savefile for the old name.

Q: Stats won't download for me at all. What's wrong?

If stats are not downloading for you at all, then it is more than likely that a firewall is blocking the software's internet access. To resolve this, tell the firewall to allow the software to connect to the internet, or disable the firewall.

Q: Is it possible to schedule automatic updating of stats for a given list of gamertags?

It is possible to schedule, at specific days/times throughout the week, the program to run automatic updates on the savefiles in the Auto Update List. First, you met set up the Auto Update List, and add the gamertags and clans you want to auto update. Next, scheduling can be done via the operating system's Scheduling software. For Windows, this would be in "Scheduled Tasks" in the "Control Panel." To schedule, simply go through the prompts, find H3O Stats Compiler, and in the "Advanced Properties", look at the "Run" box. At the end of what's already in there, add a space and then add in the commandline option "--autoupdate" (without the quotes of course.) When run via this commandline option the program loads, minimizes itself, goes through the auto-update list, and closes when finished.

Q: The Friends List in H3O is not showing or doing anything to my Xbox Live Friends List. What's going on?

The Friends List in H3O is NOT meant to represent anyone's Xbox Live Friends List. It is merely there for prioritizing certain names when totaling stats, and for the "Friends List Total Stats Comparison" feature.

Q: I'm on Linux, and it keeps complaining that an error occurred while saving. How do I fix this?

To fix this issue, Go to Options-->Options 1, Check "Use a different folder for saving savefiles...", and select a folder where you would like your savefiles to be stored. After doing this, you should have no issues.
